Jeffrey R. Glovan

Jeffrey R. Glovan is the founder of Ironleaf Law Firm, a Montana-based practice focused on cannabis law, business planning and corporate law, contracts, estate planning, and select probate, guardianship, and conservatorship matters. He represents clients who want thoughtful, planning-driven legal counsel built around structure, compliance, and long-term stability.

Jeff is a fourth-generation Montanan from Butte. After graduating from Butte High School, he earned a B.A. in Political Science and Philosophy from the University of California, Davis, graduated with honors from McGeorge School of Law, and later completed an LL.M. in Taxation at New York University School of Law. He brings more than two decades of corporate and transactional experience to his practice.

His work is centered on non-litigation matters. He helps clients form and organize businesses, negotiate and document deals, structure ownership and governance, manage legal risk, and address the practical issues that shape day-to-day operations and long-term growth. His approach is direct, strategic, and grounded in the realities clients actually face.

Since 2023, Jeff has built a dedicated cannabis practice advising licensees, entrepreneurs, investors, landlords, and operators on a wide range of regulated business matters. His work includes licensing and regulatory compliance, entity structuring, governance, commercial agreements, financing, acquisitions, leasing, and real estate-related issues affecting cannabis businesses in Montana.

Jeff’s broader transactional practice also includes business planning and corporate law, contract drafting and negotiation, and legacy planning for individuals and families. Whether a client is launching a new business, refining internal operations, protecting family assets, or navigating probate or protective proceedings, his focus is the same: build a sound legal framework before problems become expensive ones.

His legal career has taken him from Montana to California, Pennsylvania, Texas, and back again. He is licensed to practice law in Montana, California, and Texas. He returned to Montana permanently in 2010 and now serves clients throughout the state from Helena.

Ironleaf Law Firm is a transactional practice. The firm does not handle litigation or criminal defense. Instead, it is built for clients who value preparation, clarity, and practical legal guidance tailored to their goals, risk tolerance, and long-term plans. That same philosophy runs through the firm’s work in cannabis law, business planning, estate planning, probate, guardianship, and conservatorship.
